Hannah Moon

I'm a video and film producer, director editor with over fifteen years' experience across corporate, education and government. I have a strong instinct for what will be the most effective and achievable approach to each project.

I serve as end-to-end creative producer and primary client contact — interviewing, directing, scripting, and on smaller projects, editing.

I also enjoy working in larger teams as a creative consultant, field producer or director.

What I value

Story

Storytelling is my foundation. I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, double majoring in Creative Writing (Screen) and Contemporary Cultural Studies. After graduating I won several short film competitions with targeted briefs including making young drivers safer, exploring the risks of social media and encouraging young people to enrol to vote. I worked as a script and story assessor for Ruby Entertainment [Kath & Kim] and received an AWGIE nomination for Best Unproduced Screenplay.

Audience

I take a lot of care in understanding what's unique about a given audience. I've worked across a wide range of cultural contexts and communities, including eighteen months based in China, which sharpened how I think about tone, voice, bias and sensitivity. More recently I've worked within youth mental health, the international student community, the Muslim community and the manufacturing sector — all of which carry their own nuances and require a genuinely considered approach to voice, casting, framing and calls to action.

Complexity

I'm very drawn to layered projects. In educational work, that means understanding the learner profile and delivering information clearly and in a way that invites further enquiry. More broadly it means navigating stakeholder expectations, community sensitivities and competing objectives — and still producing work that's clear, authentic and effective.
